Treatment Services

At your consultation and treatment appointment, our board-certified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physicians will conduct a thorough health history and physical exam. With this information, your provider will discuss your treatment options. Often, chronic pain conditions fail to respond to a single treatment. At RehabOne Medical Group, we embody a multidisciplinary approach to treating pain conditions. This approach can include prescription medication, myofascial therapy, chiropractic services, acupuncture, psychological therapies or multi-disciplinary pain rehabilitation programs.

NCVs are used to evaluate the speed of nerve conductions by measuring the electrical signals. During the test, small electrodes will be applied to your limbs and a small electrical current will be applied to measure the nerve response. Several nerves may be studied. An EMG measures muscle response of electrical activity in response muscle movements. During the test, small needle electrodes are inserted through the skin into the muscle. The electrical activity is measured by electrical activity of muscle during rest, slight contraction and forceful contraction.

FDA-approved Botox® injections are effective for pain relief and migraine prevention, too. The injections are made of botulinum toxin. Botox and other injectables made of botulinum toxin, such as Dysport®, work by blocking chemical signals from nerves to muscles and temporarily relaxing the muscles.

Acupuncture involves inserting tiny, very thin needles at strategic points within your body to better manage health conditions such as stress, anxiety, and chronic pain. It’s often used in traditional Chinese medicine to improve and rebalance your body’s energy flow. Western medicine uses acupuncture to stimulate muscles, nerves, connective tissue, and your body’s natural painkillers and healing ability.

Chiropractic care involves a series of manual manipulations and adjusting techniques that improve musculoskeletal conditions and nervous system disorders. It’s an effective option to treat chronic pain and other health conditions without surgery or medication.

Myofascial Therapy, or therapeutic massage, incorporates numerous manual manipulation techniques to enhance physical functions and your body’s natural healing capabilities. Your provider places pressure on various areas of your body to ease tension, relax you, and relieve pain.

Psychology is the study of the mind, how the mind works, and how it affects behavior and emotions. The psychology specialists at RehabOne Medical Group counsel you when you’re in distress due to injury, trauma, or chronic pain. Behavioral therapy applications include learning self-directed, nonmedical pain coping skills. Pain-management strategies your doctor might suggest include massage, acupuncture, yoga, meditation, movement therapy, other relaxation techniques, art therapy, and chiropractic care.

A functional capacity evaluation (FCE) evaluates an individual’s capacity to perform work activities related to his or her participation in employment (Soer et al., 2008). The FCE process compares the individual’s health status, and body functions and structures to the demands of the job and the work environment. In essence, an FCE’s primary purpose is to evaluate a person’s ability to participate in work, although other instrumental activities of daily living that support work performance may also be evaluated.
